Ok, to say I am overwhelmed is to put it mildly.  It has been quite a night at our house tonight.

The love and acceptance is breathtakingly beautiful, and I cannot even begin to express how lovely it has been to read everyone’s comments and messages.

And I am trying to respond back to everyone that messages me personally.  If I haven’t responded to you yet, I’m sorry!  I’ll get there.  

This was my first post on Tumblr.  Before this I only used it follow the latest info on our favorite Glee cast, Starkid, Nick Holmes and 9Gag.  And here’s how it happened…Today was my oldest son’s (lets call him Bug) first day of first grade.  He was really nervous and had a hard time this morning, which means that while I was at the office, I was totally useless.  On my lunch break, to calm myself down, I wrote out the story of Bug and his love for Blaine.  I sent it to my husband and he said something like ‘That’s really great, honey.  You should post that somewhere.’  I asked where.  And then he said something like ‘Tumblr seems to like Darren Criss. Maybe some people will get a kick out of it.’  So, I stuck together what I thought was a cute picture and posted it.

And holy cow!

So, there are some themes that have gone through the comments, so I thought I could address them here.

Yes, we are real.  This actually happened.  (I feel weird typing that, but some people seem to be wondering.)  Watching the Glee Live 3D movie with Bug was like being a game of Where’s Waldo.  ”There’s Blaine!…  .There’s Blaine!… . .There’s Blaine!”  His aunt was sitting next to him and she was cracking up the whole time.

We’re lucky to have him, not the other way around.

No, you can’t adopt my son.  We’d cry really hard if he was gone.  :)

We are not the greatest parents ever.  Thanks, but really.  We are just trying to do our best and hoping not to screw up too badly.

And to all those kids struggling.  We totally wish we could adopt you, but our house just couldn’t take that many people.  But seriously, all of you, please know there are literally 100,000s of people out in the world willing to accept you for who you are.  It is horribly tough as a kid, and young adult, to deal with all this.  Please know that the world is changing.  I wish it was changing faster, and we all need to do what we can to be part of that change!
